You can play the campaigns while it's downloading too - Halo 4 downloads first, then Halo 1-3.
@FuzzyPizels: Yeah, I'm glad I got the Xbox One first - the exclusives have been fantastic and the MCC is the cherry on the cake. I'm loving the platform and Spencer's valiant attempts to make it all about the games. Then again, if you get it now, you'll pay so much less than I did at launch AND get free games into the bargain!
Goldeneye proved that the FPS genre can work on consoles, but it had to compromise and cut corners to do so, despite being brilliant. Halo proved that the console FPS can rival anything on other platforms at the time, plus cemented a host of mechanics we take for granted.
Even regenerating health was a Halo 2 thing, for better and worse.
Heh, yeah, though in fairness it might not be worth getting one *specifically* for this seeing as you'll probably own most if not all of these games anyway (and they're backwards compatible with X360.
If you're already excited about Forza Horizon 2 and Sunset Overdrive, though, this might tip you over the edge!
The Vita's fine as a niche gaming device with an awesome localised/indie catalogue and amazing legacy collection. It's not to everyone's tastes, but it's fine by me as a JRPG/SRPG/visual novel machine alongside my PC, 3DS, PS3 and Xbox One.
When I get my PS4 next year (so long as Bloodborne delivers) then I'll use remote play quite a bit too.
If I was a conspiracy theorist I'd wonder whether Ubisoft were purposefully trying to cripple their own PC sales/encourage privacy to prove some sort of point in the boardroom. Perhaps being able to say "well our godawful DRM was totally justified because look at all these pirates and the sales are so low we shouldn't bother anyway."
I'm not reaching for the tinfoil hat yet, but... no, surely that's not the case. More likely it's some disagreemen...
I've got a reaction right here.
Are you high, Ubisoft?
£50 for a digital download. A standard edition digital download (oh call it the limited edition if you want, but it isn't a limited edition, it's just pre-order DLC).
£50.
If Uplay isn't absolutely positively 100% perfect at launch, day one, minute one, for Far Cry 4 and The Crew, then Ubisoft will be a laughing stock. I don't pirate games, b...
I doubt it. They might deliver but it will probably cost you a ton in postage and customs. :(
For me the real scandal is that they're charging £50 for PC downloads.
£50.
You can call it a "limited edition" all you like, but when there's no standard edition available, that's a load of ****.
£50. Oh Ubisoft. You'd better pray that Uplay holds up at launch.
"The Best Things to do After Beating Destiny"
Play anything else. I'm serious - on the PS4 you've got CoD AW, LBP3 incoming and loads of awesome new PS+ offerings, while every other platform has games to spare.
Or just go down to a casino and play a slot machine. It's the same experience, only you might win real money.
EDIT: Oh, meant this to be a reply/agree to crashtestnl
I've never seen a console price war like this before. Never. Christmas is usually the time when prices go up, not down, but Microsoft is desperate to make the most of their exclusive games lead over Sony before Bloodborne and Uncharted hit then hard. Meanwhile Sony have to match Spencer's scorched-earth pricing and are slashing prices too.
Frankly it's brilliant. Us consumers deserve a win for a change!
Erm, arguably yes. We don't need heavy opinion pieces, but people often worry that their hardware is at fault when stuff like this happens.
Sorry, but where is the trolling exactly? Mentioning a topical talking point is not the same as trolling a system.
EDIT: Also, this problem happened much more than 30 minutes ago - Microsoft only just noticed it. Either way, here's hoping for a quick fix!
Hmm, weird how many other sites aren't mentioning how buggy the game is and that it's in beta.
Agreed, especially seeing as "Xbox, record that" should be pretty easy.
Still, impressive stuff, at least judging by the descriptions.
Yes. Yes it is. Love how the Mortar Titans push gameplay between defence and attack, the pacing is great. Also, suicide spectre chain reactions just don't get old.
Well, not yet. Either way, even if it does get stale after a few weeks, this is an amazing free update. Many games charged money for less in paid DLC.
I'd be surprised if the sequel wasn't multiplatform, though considering that MS paid out for Tomb Raider, anything could happen. Either way, the more people who get to play it, the better. Thoroughly enjoyed Titanfall on Xbox One and PC, and the sequel will hopefully include all of the update functionality as standard along with a beefed-up new campaign.
Or release at a cut-price ($25-$40?) as a polished and focused multiplayer-only game, perhaps with an optional DLC ...
I understand the sentiment, but the 3DS version is only obsolete right up until you leave your living room and get on the bus. :P
Yup, same here. I've been playing it on a weekly basis since launch - it's my 'go to' game on XBL. To be honest, I've never been bothered about progression systems all that much as someone who grew up on Doom, Quake, UT99 etc - it's all about the gameplay for me.
And Titanfall smashes it on that front - plus now there's lots of extra meta content to enjoy as well. Still, I know lots of people who left and never came back - hopefully they'll do ...
Absolutely agreed, plus the idea of companies paying for negative coverage is hilarious. Even the most cynical site would run that offer as a front page story and expose the whole thing, getting millions of hits in the process!
